Cooley’s Grand Rapids Campus was filled with excitement on June 10 when Cooley founder Hon. Thomas E. Brennan visited the campus for the first time.

Judge Brennan toured the law school, met faculty and staff and spoke to them at a luncheon, and made a presentation to students. In his comments to students, Judge Brennan talked about the the realization of his dream to start a new law school and what it was like during the early days of Cooley.

Judge Brennan was a Justice on the Michigan Supreme Court from 1966 to 1973, and he was the youngest Chief Justice ever to serve in that role (1969-70). Judge Brennan founded the Cooley Law School in 1972, became the Dean in 1974, and later took on the role of President.
