WMU-Cooley Alumna Presides over First-Generation Graduate’s Swearing-In

A WMU-Cooley Law School graduate and first-generation college graduate was recently sworn in to practice law by fellow WMU-Cooley alumna – the Hon. Jennifer Faber.

Judge Faber proceeded over Kenyata McGill’s swearing in ceremony in her courtroom in 61st District Court in Grand Rapids on Wednesday, Dec. 4. McGill, who works with the Muskegon County Defender’s Office, is a May 2018 graduate of WMU-Cooley. Judge Faber is a 1999 cum laude graduate.

McGill, who graduated from Grand Valley State University before attending WMU-Cooley earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in criminal justice.
