WMU-Cooley Law School will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the law school’s Tampa Bay campus, as well as the 50th anniversary of the law school being chartered, on Thursday, Sept. 22, 6-7:30 p.m. The event will take place at the school’s Riverside, Florida campus at 9445 Camden Field Parkway.
WMU-Cooley President and Dean James McGrath and members of the law school’s board of directors will host faculty, staff, alumni, local officials, and friends of the school during a special anniversary celebration.
The evening will feature remarks by President McGrath, Judge Ronald Ficarrota, chief judge of the State of Florida 13th Judicial Circuit; WMU-Cooley Board member Mustafa Ameen, WMU-Cooley Student Bar Association President Alberto Gonzalez, and WMU-Cooley Alumni Association Secretary Robert Johnson. The program will culminate with the reading of a proclamation from Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, followed by a champagne toast.
Law school and campus memorabilia will be on display, including digitized archive photos, framed photos, previous issues of the school’s Benchmark magazine, and class composites.
