message To Alumni and Friends
Dear fellow graduates and friends,
My hope is that your family, friends, and colleagues are in good health. Like you, our law school is adjusting to challenging times. I am writing today to give you an update about how the situation has affected the students, staff and faculty at WMU-Cooley.
Our faculty and staff have been working quickly and diligently to bring the classroom experience online. As I am sure you can imagine, moving our instruction and student services online was a tremendous challenge, but we are ready to deliver a quality legal education to our students during this unique time. All classes are now online and the upcoming final exams will also be online.
As you can imagine, some students are able to adjust rather rapidly, but I know others are struggling with our new virtual environment. Like all of us, though, they have been doing some amazing things to resolve the obstacles they face daily.
Our students are naturally experiencing many changes in their lives as a result of this crisis, raising stress levels for all of them. Some of them face loss of employment income, less than ideal living conditions, an inability to connect to the internet at home, lack of technology equipment, or other stumbling blocks that affect their learning.
I know that many of you are facing similar challenges, and we ask you to keep our students in mind during this difficult time.
Members of our alumni and donor relations staff are working from home, and are able to answer any of your questions. Contact us by email at [email protected].
Thank you everyone for your commitment and support to WMU-Cooley Law School.
Let’s ALL RISE together to keep our community strong.
