Systems and Electronic Resources Librarian
Cooley Law School, with locations in Michigan and Florida, seeks a Systems and Electronic Resources Librarian. This position is located at the Lansing, Michigan campus.
The Systems and Electronic Resources Librarian will coordinate departmental activities and staff in cataloging, serials, and systems. The Librarian will coordinate support to other departments and their staff in the performance of technical services procedures to support and provide access to the Library collection; and, work with other departments on acquisitions and stack maintenance, including directing staff with proper procedures and project management. Supervises overall implementation and updating of the integrated library system (ILS). The position is on campus, Monday through Friday.
Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: Master’s degree in Library Science or related field; minimum of four to five years of experience; minimum of five years of technical experience in a library using Innovative, Sierra ILS or another ILS; project management or team leadership, preferred.
Knowledge of specialized technical applications (Regular Expressions, Notepad++, HTML, OCLC Connexions or similar programs); knowledge of current cataloging standards; proficiency in use of a bibliographic utility for cataloging or indexing; ability to effectively implement new programs and manage electronic databases; strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills; ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds; strong service ethic; self-directed; ability to multi-task; and, works well in a team environment.
