Collegiate + Cooley Law School FAQs

What’s Collegiate?

Collegiate is an all-in-one digital banking app designed for students. It helps you save smarter, spend, and manage your money confidently — all from your phone.

No monthly fees. No confusing jargon. Just real tools built to fit your life in law school.

Powered by MSUFCU, Collegiate combines modern convenience with the safety and support of a trusted financial institution.

Why did Cooley partner with Collegiate?

Cooley is committed to supporting students inside and outside the classroom — including their financial well-being. Collegiate offers Cooley students an all-in-one money app that’s simple, smart, and built for student life. From saving for bar prep to tracking everyday spending, this partnership helps take the stress out of money — and puts powerful financial tools, tips, and education right at your fingertips.

I go to the Cooley Tampa campus—can I still use Collegiate?

Yes! Collegiate is completely digital. No matter where you’re studying — from Tampa to Lansing or anywhere in between — you’re eligible and can manage everything from your phone or laptop.

I’m not from Michigan or Florida. Can I still join?

Definitely. As long as you're a Cooley Law student, you're eligible no matter where you call home.

What if I already have an MSUFCU account?

You can have both! There’s no need to switch or close your MSUFCU account. Collegiate is just another way to manage your money with smart, student-focused tools.

Is Collegiate safe and secure?

Absolutely! Collegiate accounts are held at MSU Federal Credit Union and are insured by the NCUA. That means your money is protected up to federal limits and backed by a trusted financial institution.

What is a credit union, anyway?

A credit union is a not-for-profit financial institution that’s owned by its members — that means you. Instead of chasing profits for shareholders, credit unions reinvest in you with better rates, fewer fees, and tools that help you thrive. It’s banking that works for you, not off you.

How long does it take to open account?

Just a few minutes. The process is fast, fully online, and mobile-friendly. You’ll be up and running before your next coffee break.

What if I need help?

We’ve got you. Collegiate offers live support through phone — plus, helpful tools right in the app. Whether you're sorting out a transaction or just have questions, we're here to help.
