Cooley Law School Student Receives $5,000 Scholarship from State Bar of Michigan Insurance & Indemnity Law Section

LANSING, Mich. – A Cooley Law School student has been awarded one of two scholarships from the State Bar of Michigan Insurance & Indemnity Law Section.

Victoria Hanna, in second year at Cooley, received the $5,000 scholarship based on her essay, “Reforming Medical Insurance Law to Address America’s Healthcare Crisis.” The essay examines how current legal frameworks governing medical insurance often fall short of their fundamental purpose, protecting Americans from financial devastation due to medical expenses, and proposes comprehensive reforms to address these systemic gaps.

Hanna’s essay was published in the January 2026 Quarterly Journal of the State Bar of Michigan’s Insurance & Indemnity Law Section.
